Challenge
Operating in a fast-paced, male-dominated industry, ACCIONA identified a need to support emerging female leaders who were delivering results but often lacked visibility, advocacy, or structured development opportunities. The business wanted to empower this talent to step into bigger roles while embedding inclusive leadership behaviours at the senior level.
Approach
ACCIONA partnered with Cultivate to launch a sponsorship program for a select cohort of high-potential women and senior sponsors. Delivered through a 14-module self-paced journey with guided conversations, reflection exercises, and group learning sessions, the program created structure and momentum around relationship-based development. Cross-business sponsor pairings were used to build exposure and open new pathways.
Solution
The program helped participants shift from quietly contributing to boldly leading. Sponsees gained clarity, confidence, and access to new networks, while sponsors embraced their role as advocates—championing sponsees’ aspirations and unlocking career-defining opportunities. The initiative laid the foundation for a more inclusive and strategically aligned leadership culture.
Experience
Participants described a powerful shift in how they saw themselves—and how they were seen by the business. Sponsees expressed greater confidence in setting career goals and navigating influence. Sponsors reflected on their legacy and the ripple effects of active sponsorship. The program helped embed a stronger sense of connection, belief, and shared responsibility for leadership development.
“I’ve gone from quietly delivering to confidently leading. My sponsor gave me the backing to step into new opportunities.”
