GHD Sponsorship journey: Behind the Scenes

written by

Gender diversity for GHD is a critical part of being a viable and effective firm. A diversity of views and experiences is crucial to business success. With respect to this, GHD sought a structured approach to improve intentional leadership that makes them more effective at attracting and retaining female talent.

Cultivate Sponsorship program was an excellent opportunity to test gender equality initiatives GHD already had in place. The Cultivate program stepped participants through the critical stages of building a sponsorship relationship and strategic alliance. A key activity includes participants spending a ‘Day In The Life’ of their sponsorship partner, where the sponsor and sponsee build perspective by shadowing one another. The result is a deeper recognition of personal capabilities and capacity of the sponsee which is at the core of building reciprocal strategic alliances to create a culture of opportunity and visibility for female talent.
